SOS has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with OneCare Group Ltd to explore potential areas of collaboration that would enhance the medical and mental health support for its members serving as ratings.

Signed by SOS President Kam Soon Huat and OneCare Group Chief Executive Officer Marinos Kokkinis on Oct 24 2025, the MOU will see both parties explore areas such as:
Access to round-the-clock global telemedical support, including medical consultations and case management for urgent and routine health matters. A dedicated 24/7 mental health crisis line to provide immediate access to qualified professionals for crisis intervention, counselling and referral for sustained care when required. Mental health and wellbeing training programmes to raise awareness, reduce stigma and promote resilience among ratings, alongside peer-support approaches and practical coping strategies tailored to life at sea. Joint wellbeing initiatives such as stress management and fatigue reduction programmes, targeted awareness campaigns and educational resources for SOS members. Comprehensive eLearning programmes delivered through the OneLearn Global platform that would support continuous learning and professional development.
The MOU with OneCare reflects SOS’s continued commitment to accessible, sustainable care for its seafaring members.
