It brings us great joy to kick off the new 12-year new cycle of the Chinese zodiac by renewing our commitment to tripartism. SOS General Secretary Daniel Tan highlighted this at the SOS/Seacare Hongbao Presentation and Lunar New Year Celebration held on 31 January 2020. Among the guests were tripartite partners from the labour and co-operative movement, maritime community, Seacare associates and more.

On 30 January 2020, SOS, Seacare, and Chip Eng Seng Group hosted its annual Chinese New Year lunch at Red Star restaurant to celebrate Chinese New Year with Jalan Kukoh residents. About 400 senior residents from Jalan Kukoh attended the lunch and were thoroughly entertained by the caishens, performances, and Mediacorp artistes Mr Richard Liu and Ms Lin Mei Jiao.

The Suites Hotel & Spa was successfully acquired on 23 December 2019. The Management Team (UK Hotels) made a site visit to the hotel on 8 January 2020, to view the various rooms and facilities. They were warmly welcomed by Compass Hospitality (UK) and Ms Lindsay Tyer, General Manager of the hotel.

SOS presented Peso 3,000,000 (estimated SGD 80,000) worth of gift vouchers as a year end gift to 1,500 eligible Filipino members for them to exchange for subsidised grocery and daily necessities at Slop Chest. Members are advised to self-collect their vouchers from the Seacare’s Representative Office, LSA Consultancy and Management Services Inc in Manila. Collection period in until 31 March 2020.
