As part of its outreach to members, SOS regularly conducts ship visits to vessels calling at the Port of Singapore. During this Mid-Autumn Festival, SOS Industrial Relations Officers (IROs) brought festive warmth to the vessels they visited. Led by Vice President Mohamad Abu Bakar, the team met with members and distributed mooncakes along with gifts, sharing greetings that brightened the workday for seafarers on board ships.
The ship visits carried a deeper meaning of unity and appreciation, especially for seafarers working on ships away from home. The IR team also have conversations with the seafarers on board about their well-being and working conditions. They are encouraged to visit the Seacare Drop-In Centre for International Seafarers at Pasir Panjang Terminal.
Through these consistent engagements, SOS remains a constant presence for members at sea, wherever their journeys take them.
