With the unveiling of the Singapore Co-operative Movement’s 10-year Transformation Roadmap in Sep 25, co-operative leaders were called to embrace a renewed mandate: to act boldly, steward social impact, and serve as a stabilising force in times of change, at the Singapore National Co-operative Federation (SNCF) Annual Co-operative Leaders’ Conference.

Held in Shenzhen, China, from Oct 30 to Nov 2, the conference gathered more than 100 representatives from SNCF-affiliated co-operatives under the rallying call, “Co-ops Build a Better Singapore.” The programme featured targeted sessions designed to future-proof the Movement and strengthen its relevance in a rapidly changing landscape.

Eleven Seacare representatives participated:
- Shena Foo, Seacare Co-operative
- Lim Chye Teen, Seacare Properties
- Ong Zhiwei, Seacare Property Development
- Kathryn Ang, Seacare Foundation
- Grace Lim, Seacare Holdings
- Florence Tan, Seacare Manpower Services
- Andrew Ong, Seacare Thrift
- Dr Peh Keng Chuen, Seacare Maritime Medical
- Jasmin Choo, Seacare Hospitality
- Deng Hui Hua, Seacare i-Connecz
- Evelyn Siow, Seacare Manpower (SNCF Executive Council Member)
The conference programme sharpened perspectives through thought-provoking plenaries.

Mr Lin Weiran, Chairman of the Operation Company of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area Green Agricultural Products Production and Supply Base, spoke on “Co operation in the Golden Autumn, Uniting as One to Create the Future.”
Dr Justin Lee, Senior Research Fellow and Head of Policy Lab at the Institute of Policy Studies, challenged delegates to consider “Reimagining Community Empowerment through Co operatives.”
Ms Joyce Tham, Chief Businesswoman of CreativeAtWork, together with Mr Kau Yi Ing, Founder and Venture Partner of Krux Asia, explored “Doing More with Less in the Age of AI,” offering practical insights on harnessing technology to enhance productivity and impact.

Complementing the plenaries were three practical workshops: Ignite Transformation; Create an AI Chatbot; and Measure It, Share It — Communicating Social Impact.
A visit to a cultural village added a meaningful dimension to the programme, offering delegates a glimpse into heritage and community life beyond the conference setting.
