SOS marked another milestone with the staging of its Wellness Seminar and Gala Night at the Hyatt Regency, Chennai on Dec 4.
Building on the success of its inaugural programme in Mumbai, the Chennai edition reaffirmed SOS’s commitment to supporting seafarers across the region. The Wellness Seminar addressed the mental and emotional challenges of life at sea for seafarers. Through expert-led sessions, group discussions and interactive activities tailored to the maritime environment, participants gained practical tools to build resilience, manage stress and maintain balance both onboard and ashore.

The day concluded with a Gala Dinner attended by the maritime family. The presence of SOS President Kam Soon Huat and General Secretary Daniel Tan underscored the SOS’s strong leadership and commitment, alongside distinguished guests from the National Union of Seafarers of India (NUSI), Maersk India Training Centre, and the Academy of Maritime Education and Training (AMET) University, reflecting a shared dedication to the seafaring community.

Guests enjoyed an evening of cultural dance performances, live music, and a DJ set, alongside a specially curated South Indian banquet. An SOS photo booth added a personal touch, while door gifts were presented to all participants.

With opportunities for connection and celebration, the event fostered new friendships and strengthened the sense of maritime community, marking the Chennai programme as both meaningful and memorable.
