The SOS Family Day on Oct 14, 2023 was a delightful blend of family bonding and celebration of educational achievements.
Transitioning from a formal and ceremonial event at the Singapore Zoo in 2022, The SOS Family Day on Oct 14, 2023 invited all Study Grant Award and Education Assistance Fund recipients to join their families in a fun, engaging family-centric celebration at Bird Paradise.
GS Daniel Tan, in his opening address, underscored the value of family time, setting a cheerful tone for the day. The event was a tapestry of joy, featuring a variety of lively games and an immersive exploration of Bird Paradise – Asia’s largest bird park.
Interactive stage games were a highlight, drawing enthusiastic participation from family members of all ages. The activities, coupled with an exciting lucky draw, replaced traditional award ceremonies, creating a sense of unity and shared celebration.
While there was no formal presentation, Study Grant Award and Education Assistance Fund recipients were invited on stage for commemorative group photos.
“It’s my first time attending an SOS event and my first time visiting Bird Paradise. I enjoy the fun and positive experience with my family,” said study grant recipient Nadia,19, who aspires to be an air stewardess.
Similar sentiments from participants captured the essence of the day – a harmonious blend of educational encouragement and family enjoyment, making the SOS Family Day a memorable event for all.
The SOS Study Grant Award and Education Assistance Fund is supported by the NTUC U Care Education Co-Funding Scheme.
