SOS General Secretary Daniel Tan and Executive Secretary Chen Chuanyi participated in the 36th Asian Seafarers Summit Meeting (ASSM) and 28th Norwegian/Asian Seafarers Committee (NASCO) Meeting, which were held in Hanoi, Vietnam from 25 to 26 October 2019.
Attended by 81 leaders from 17 labour unions representing seamen in 12 Asian countries and territories, both the ASSM and NASCO meetings have proven to provide the platform for active discussion and cooperation amongst union representatives who are all keen to promote better working conditions for all seafarers.
