NTUC Women’s Committee Annual Seminar

The NTUC Women’s Committee convened its annual seminar in Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan, from Aug 27 to 29.

The event saw participation from over 55 union representatives and members of the NTUC Women and Family Unit (WAF); SOS AS Shena Foo was among the attendees.

A highlight of the seminar was a fireside chat with Malaysia politician Nicole Tan, also a Negeri Sembilan state executive councillor.

Ms Tan shared insights on Malaysia’s initiatives to support working women and her leadership journey. The seminar was a platform for WAF to update attendees on three pivotal areas: combating discrimination and harassment against women in the workplace; assisting women in re-entering the workforce; and nurturing leadership within the labour movement.

The agenda also included debates on the relevance of unions and the scope of the Tripartite Guidelines on Flexible Work Arrangements. The event concluded with team-building activities, fostering a sense of camaraderie among the participants.
